Requires 2-3 years of related hotel or venue leadership.

Proven interpersonal skills with a track record of successful client interaction.

Previous event management experience in a luxury or upscale hotel.

Coordinate the management of assigned banquet events.

Maintaining an “on the floor” management presence anticipating guest needs throughout each event.

Verbally communicates, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of the function with the kitchen, service, beverage, conventions services, and engineering staffs, as well as the guest host to ensure timely execution of events, quality service, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, local safety and health regulations and corporate standards.

Visually inspects function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory, and set up.

Participates in development and measurement of personal and team goals and action plans.

Participates in internal and external training and industry events i.e., Customer Focused Events, Leadership, CPR, etc.

Participates in internal and external meetings as determined by the Director of Catering & Events such as but not limited to Resume Meeting, BEO Meeting, Group Pick-Up Meeting, Pre-Cons, Department pre-shifts etc.

Prepares reports, correspondence and analysis relative to group activity i.e., activity checklist, call reports, written customer correspondence, banquet event orders, diagrams, resumes, post event report and internal memos or communications.Analyzes customers’ service and product needs and financial issues of in-house groups authorizes appropriate resolution of customers’ concerns while maintaining profitability.Directs customer relationships in a proactive manner relative to payment structure, room block management, food and beverage, public room rental and, incremental and affiliate revenue streams, performance damages and master billing process.

Responsible for representing the hotel to customers in the role of executing negotiated group sales agreements including but not limited to room blocks and food and beverage.Responsible for successful execution of event and customer satisfaction to ensure customer remains loyal and books future business with hotel/company. Maximizes revenues and controls expenses through effective negotiation of prices and services. Maintain as a liaison between the customer, their representatives, and the hotel by directing each hotel department as to their specific role in the preplanning and execution on-site.
